The freshly graduated engineer gradually sobers up from his student ideals and encounters a different reality than he had expected. Few people understand his resistance to the established conditions in a prosperous company, and the hero's personal conflicts with his superiors deepen. He recognises hypocrisy: people say something different from what they really think. He encounters sycophancy and calculation whether he stays in the country or moves to the big city.

This documentary by director Štěpán Kačírek offers a glimpse into the life of poet, playwright, illustrator, photographer, and, paradoxically, communist and jazz musician Josef Kainar. Despite his artistic versatility, poetry remains the focus of his life's work. Among his best-known collections are Stories and Minor Poems, New Myths, Fates, and Rhymes. Vladimír Mišík, Michal Prokop, Petr Skoumal, Jiří Brabec, Gábina Osvaldová, and others recall the poet, who constantly suffered from a lack of money, love, and happiness.

The unhappy and desperate director of the Šúpala Zoo tries to sell a sick bear to a foreign tourist for shooting, because the purchase of other animals for the ZOO is only possible with anti-socialist currency, i.e. hard currency, and so the administrator does everything possible and impossible just to get them...

Mia is the daughter of Jorge Benavides, a powerful man who commits suicide because of Ernesto Zamorano, his enemy who tricked him.
